Sherita Simpson Joins Gentry Locke

The Virginia law firm of Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore, LLP is pleased to announce that Sherita D. Simpson has joined the Firm as an associate attorney in the Labor and Employment practice group. A native of LaGrange, Georgia, she received her law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2009 and her undergraduate degree cum laude from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2006.

Prior to joining Gentry Locke, Simpson was a certified mediator for the Magistrate Courts of the State of West Virginia. She was a member of the West Virginia University College of Law's Moot Court team in 2008 and 2009 and was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society. She was a recipient of the W.E.B. Du Bois Fellowship Award from West Virginia University and served as Vice-President of the Black Law Student Association in 2008 and 2009.

Simpson currently serves on the boards of the Fund Development Committee for the Girl Scouts of Skyline Virginia and Roanoke Area Ministries, and is 2010 Co-Chair of the Virginia State Bar Southern Virginia Minority Pre-Law Conference.
