The Virginia Legal Elite are chosen through a survey conducted by Virginia Business magazine and The Virginia Bar Association. This year, the magazine e-mailed electronic ballots to 11,500 lawyers and more than 1,600 participated, voting for 3,826 lawyers in 15 categories who voters felt demonstrated exceptional levels of expertise in their areas of practice.
