Eunice Austin, a partner with the Virginia law firm of Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore, received an Outstanding Service Award from the Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Conference at the group’s annual meeting and luncheon on June 15th at the Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach.
The award honors Austin’s commitment to serving the legal profession through her involvement with the Young Lawyers Conference; she recently organized a statewide professional development conference on behalf of the organization. Austin was one of 17 lawyers in Virginia to receive the award.
"Eunice’s honor is well-deserved," said G. Michael Pace Jr., Managing Partner of the firm. "She is a first-class attorney who is dedicated to her clients, her community and her profession. We couldn’t be prouder."
Austin’s practice areas include professional liability, products liability and civil litigation. She is a native of Roanoke, Va., and received her undergraduate degree from University of Virginia and law degree from The College of William and Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law. She is an active member of the Junior League of the Roanoke Valley, and serves on the Board of Directors for Child Health Investment Partnership (CHIP) and North Cross School Alumni Association.
The Young Lawyers Conference (YLC) is an arm of the Virginia State Bar, the state agency charged with regulating lawyers licensed to practice in Virginia. The YLC is an organization through which young lawyers can participate in Virginia State Bar activities and serve the legal profession and the public. The YLC promotes high standards of professionalism and competence, improving the legal system, and improving the legal system's responsiveness to the public.
